Will You Be Able To Find Commercial Real Estate Loan Opportunities In 2023?

During my commercial banking days, I rode out a few economic cycles.  I remember things getting tough for me during an economic downturn because of several reasons...banks tightened credit, business owners delayed major projects, and the revenue & profitability numbers that businesses were reporting did not look good which made it hard to get loans approved!  However, I remember still hitting my production goals during the economic downturn that started in 2008.  It was a very tough environment.  I had to change my game plan!  A lot of my colleagues and competitors assumed that there were no deals to be done…so they stopped hunting for opportunities!  I doubled down on the hunting and calibrated my sales pitch…it paid off hugely!

I recently read an article (see link below) about what the CBRE folks think of the strength of the CRE lending landscape.  They are optimistic…they know a few things about the CRE marketplace!  Time will tell if there are correct!  As expected, the article talks about the lenders that are stepping up to fill the void left as banks tighten credit.  What does this mean for you?  It means that you need to continue hunting…hone your sales skills…use digital marketing tools to get in front of prospects faster…figure out the challenges and opportunities these prospects are experiencing…and show them how you can help them!  If you want a crash course on digital marketing, check out the free Commercial Lending Toolkit at www.bizpetrol.com.  The point of all of this is that there are deals to be done in any type of environment.  To find deals in any kind of economic environment, you have to be willing and able to change your marketing game plan!  Stay hungry and don’t stop hunting!
